Requirements and Benefits

Important Dates and Requirements:

The 2015-16 training year will run from August 10, 2015 to August 26, 2016*. To start the training year, new trainees plus all staff and continuing trainees are required to participate in the:

  • All-day Welcome Retreat on August 10, 2015
  • Orientation Week(s): orientations for each program assignment are conducted during the first three weeks of the training year

* All important training year dates and requirements will be confirmed once accepted in your Letter of Understanding. It is not acceptable to save Paid Time Off (PTO) to use to end the training year early.

Weekly Requirements:

  • Full-time interns and Post-doctoral fellows: During the training year, full-time post-doctoral fellows and full-time pre-doctoral interns spend a minimum of 40 hours/week in one or two training programs. Interns are generally assigned to two programs concurrently while Fellows are generally assigned to one program full-time.
  • Half- time trainees/practicum students: During the training year, half-time trainees spend a minimum of 20 hours/week in one training program.
  • Meeting requirements will depend on your program assignments. Program meetings are three hours for each program.
  • Trainees will spend at least 25% of their time in face-to-face psychological services to patients/clients.
