Background:
Leslie’s passion and interests lie in serving the underserved communities in his local area. To this end, his professional experience spans across a variety of settings, including schools, residential settings, level 14 group homes for adolescents, mobile crisis response teams, Assertive Community Treatment teams, and partial hospitalization (PHP) programs.

To ensure Hume integrates its clinical goals/mission with its business goals. This includes compliance with current regulations and clinical outcomes. To empower the various programs and managers to adjust to healthcare changes.

Career Progression:
Leslie Miao has a diverse background spanning clinical, administrative, and managerial roles which enable him to bring a wealth of experience to his current position. Leslie has held various positions within The Hume Center, which includes Intake Coordinator, Therapist, Quality Assurance Officer, Program Manager, Director of Clinical Services, Administrative Director, and now, Director of Compliance and Behavioral Health Operations.

Leslie has extensive experience in managing mental health treatment programs in Medicare-accredited Community Mental Health Centers and Medi-Cal-based treatment programs.

Implementation of a Compliance Program at Hume.
Implementation of and management of the electronic health record system
Started up and Implemented FSP and OP level of services in Richmond
Developed psychiatric services as a separate department at Hume

Interests include leading/guiding/empowering others, transforming Hume toward a flexible and dynamic organization with the structure to support change.
