Dr. Michael Cobbina, MSOL, MBA-HM, DMin, BCC, AIA is the Vice President of Operation. Michael is a compassionate and relationship based leader, who believes in collaborative partnership to achieve results. Dr. Cobbina previously served as the Support Services Administrative Services Manager, in charge of Volunteer Services and special projects at Kaiser Permanente Marin-Sonoma Service area, covering two medical centers, and also as a Chaplain at Santa Rosa Medical Center for 6 years, providing spiritual care and advocating for patients, families, and staff from varied spiritual and cultural backgrounds.
Dr. Cobbina has extensive experience in Patient Care Experience and enjoy coaching and supporting individuals and teams to meet department and organizational goals. Dr. Cobbina also co-facilitated sessions on Spirituality & Health in the Kaiser Santa Rosa Residency program, highlighting the important role diverse spiritual expressions play in the health of patients and providers and meaning of their work. Dr. Cobbina lived and worked in London for almost 10 years in various sectors including local government, before relocating to the US. Dr. Cobbina used these experiences when he greatly benefited Hume Center by joining our Board of Directors in 2022. This experience compelled him to join Hume Center more directly and so in May, 2024 he was hired as Vice President, Organizational Development and Operations, where he’ll use his extensive education and experience to enhance Hume Center’s operational goals . Dr. Cobbina trained as a Biology teacher. He holds a master’s degree in Pastoral Studies, from Loyola University, an MBA from Western Governors University, and a Doctorate in Ministry from Redlands Graduate School of Theology, and a Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership also at Redlands. Dr. Cobbina has great passion for music and considers it therapeutic and spiritual expressions.
